At the June Member States Meeting on June 19, National POLST announced the hiring of Jeanette May, PhD, MPH, as the new National POLST Collaborative executive director. Dr. May has over 20 years of experience as a healthcare leader in the nonprofit and for-profit healthcare sectors, including leading several large healthcare associations. She and her team at MaySquare will be looking to improve the sustainability of the Collaborative, increase engagement with member states, develop strategic collaborations in the realm of serious illness care, develop an advocacy plan, create accessible and informative tools and resources, including a redesigned website, and enhance communication around appropriate use of POLST and best practices.
