Don't Miss the Newest POLST CE Modules!   Have you checked out the POLST Learning center lately? Pediatric POLST & EMS and POLST in Translation are the latest continuing education modules added to the POLST Learning Center. Each provides 1.0 CME or CNE credits, and the trainings are available on-demand and free of charge.   Pediatric POLST & EMS, developed with support from the Pediatric Palliative Care Coalition, reviews the particular considerations for use of POLST with seriously ill children and the implications for emergency medicine.    POLST in Translation, developed by Jonathan Weinkle, MD, FAAP, provides an overview of the concepts of cultural competency and cultural humility and their relevance to POLST conversations. It also explores cultural challenges around having serious illness conversations and provides strategies for improving one's ability to approach POLST discussions with sensitivity around cultural differences.   This project was supported by a grant from the McElhattan Foundation to enhance access to POLST education and resources for healthcare providers and personnel throughout Pennsylvania.   Help your staff improve their skills in administering POLST. Some key findings include an increase in POLST form submissions in 2022. Availability of the online provider portal has led to a decrease in calls to OPR, allowing providers to readily access information on-demand. OPR also implemented a new mobile website and app that allow emergency providers to access POLST forms electronically in real time. Download the full report here.
